American Bald Eagle
What a great challenge it was - creating an American Eagle expressing its majestic and powerful elegance. The outcome, a seamless combination of various breathtaking materials.
The eagles body is made out of an alpine granite (Austrian Alps/ ~125 million years old), brecciated agate (~ 70 million years old) as well as white marble from Italy. The head is shaped out of finest rock crystal from the Großglockner mountain (highest mountain in Austria) combined with a very rare piece of yellow obsidian.
The American Eagle is sitting on a wonderful, slightly grey piece of rock crystal. As all Schluifer works of modern crystal art, this sculpture is one of a kind and signed by the artist with F. Schluifer.
